At Little Scholars Learning Academy we accept children

as early as 2.5 years old through 5 years old.

Our preschool focus is literacy based and social/emotional learning.

The classes we offer are 2 days, 3 days and 5 days.

We also offer half day or full day classes.

Get to know our Owner & Director:

Miss Jessica

She has a bachelors degree in Speech pathology and a Masters degree in early childhood, childhood and special education.

She is a certified early childhood education teacher in Connecticut. She has a passion and love for teaching and helping children become multi-dimensional beings.

She also speaks Spanish and has a background in early intervention.

There should be no child left behind! Children have so much to learn and their early years are such a vital part of the adults we are shaping for the future.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to open up my own preschool! Dreams do come true when you put your heart and soul into things our heart truly desires. I’m a mom of 3 beautiful & amazing children.

How did my teaching journey begin?

I taught in New York for about 10 years before I moved to Connecticut. I then continued my teaching path in CT and something inside me said, "I am not cut out for the administrative demands and not agreeing with the curriculums that are being used in schools today. I therefore did my research on how I could implement and teach those that need it the most, which are the ones who will shape our future. The ones who need it the most are our children ages 2 and up. They need the foundational skills for reading, writing and math and a focus in social/emotional learning and this is and will always be my goal.

My goal is for children to be prepared for formal schooling, to be able to read, write, understand numbers but most importantly be genuinely happy children.

Our son, Jonah has already learned SO MUCH in a few short weeks that we have been with Little Scholars. His language has exploded. When Jonah gets out of the car upon arrival, he says "HURRY RUN!!!' and runs to Ms Jessica's front door and doesn't even say goodbye. When we pick up Jonah, he is so comfortable that he doesn't want to leave. He will play in her front yard, take walks and just take his time getting in the car which is a huge indication of how comfortable he is. It feels like we are dropping our child off at a family member's house."

We love miss Jessica and miss betsy. Jessica has gone above and beyond to accomodate my two little ones.

She provides a safe, educational and muticultural experience which was exactly what i was looking for. My two boys have grown exponentially at Little Scholars. I am confident for my older son to go to kindergarten now and my younger son to transition to a bigger school in a new town. We wish we could stay forever!
